  • Recognizing the rising healthcare premiums, we became a self-insured district. This does not affect employee healthcare benefits but does save the district money.

  • We have entered into an agreement with Prestige Healthcare to provide our staff and their families healthcare managed by Prestige. Staff can avail themselves with general healthcare, pharmacy, physical therapy, and mental health counseling all in a separate facility that is being built out. 

 

  • Hired a Supervisor of School Counseling, K-8.

 

  • Increased security officers.

 

  • Provided  professional development of staff consistent with the district’s equity goals, especially in the areas of culturally and linguistically responsive (CLR) instruction, technology, and content specialization. 

 

  • Created “Why Franklin?” videos that will showcase Franklin Grads who have returned to teach and to use as a minority recruitment tool for out-of-state teachers who are about to graduate.

 

  • We have encouraged staff to receive the necessary certifications to take them to the next level. We are proud that we are able to promote from within. 

 

  • We have successfully negotiated our union contracts every cycle using a win/win solution.
