The Green Teams at all schools have applied for or begun the application process for Sustainable Jersey certification. Franklin Middle School @ the Hamilton Street Campus earned Silver Certification, was part of the inaugural group of schools to earn the new Digital Schools Star Award and received a grant through the Sustainable NJ for Schools program.

We installed our own solar panels at Claremont Elementary School. The return on our investment is the energy that we sell monthly. This is paying for the cost of the panels. Additionally, we are using more solar energy at the school.

Conducted a feasibility study with regard to establishing an electric bus fleet.

Accepted a PSE&G energy grant to lower costs associated with lighting and HVAC controls in certain older schools.

Earned Bronze-level Sustainable NJ Recognition at MacAfee Road School and FMS @ Hamilton Street.
