Immediately after the tragic Parkland school shootings, we hired a safety and security consultant to assess security and risks at our buildings. We have made many improvements and added others to our Long Range Facilities Plan which is utilized every year.

All schools have Class III police officers in addition to security guards.

Completed “man traps” at the entrances to all of our schools.

Upgraded surveillance cameras at three elementary schools in 2021 which completed the upgrade of all of our cameras.

Upgraded lighting at all schools. .

Upgraded communications that link directly to our police and sheriff.

Installed heat sensor monitors outside the restrooms at FHS to detect vaping.

We have an excellent relationship with the Franklin Township Council, Police Department, Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, and Sheriff's Office. We have all worked together to eliminate any threats to our schools.
